Why Can't Thieves Make an HONEST Living?

Since Brian purchased his Escalade, his car has been rifled through twice with some items being stolen and last night was hit #3. This time they stole his rims and wheels, which he recently purchased (twice, but that's a whole other story). They used our neighbor's stone bricks and a jack to keep the car off the ground and left all the lug nuts laying around. I just don't understand why people feel that they have the liberty of taking things that aren't theirs, but then I don't have the mind of a criminal either.

The Potter Barn rug came in for the baby's room, so of course I had to post pictures!

Father's Day

Brian and I spent some time with his Dad and Mary on Father's Day. We had a late lunch/early dinner and then Mary and I went shopping for Morgan for a little while.

Brian's gift (that I ordered online over 2 weeks ago) was late by one day in getting to the house in time for Father's Day. I was upset that it didn't arrive in time, but I was still very excited to give it to him tonight when I got home from work. Brian is extremely proud to have served in the military, so I had the idea of ordering a display case to show off his military jacket with his metals. I think he was very surprised and happy with his gift and he plans on displaying it in his office.

Breastfeeding Class

Brian and I attended a 2.5 hour breastfeeding class last weekend and I made him promise to behave himself and not make any inappropriate jokes. He said it was difficult and had to bite his tongue a few times, but he took the class seriously and we learned quite a bit. The picture was taken right before we left for the class.

Brian's look says it all...

Death of a Big Screen

Last week our big screen TV started randomly shutting off for no apparent reason. This was all it took for Brian to start researching new big screen TVs. We pulled our smaller flat screen out of the bedroom and brought it in the living room for a while until the big screen decided to start working again. It still would randomly shut down every now and then, so after spending 2 hours in Best Buy and 30 minutes in Conn's, Brian purchased a new big screen TV from Conn's and can't wait for it to arrive on Saturday. Seeing the small flat screen in front of the big screen made me laugh, so I took a picture of the pitiful sight.

Wendy Visits

My friend Wendy came into town last minute for her grandfather's funeral this past weekend and we managed to get together with our other good friend Nola for a long lunch on Sunday. We always have a great time together - eating a lot of food and sharing a lot of laughs!

Curtains and Drawer Pulls

My sister Lisa and my friend Peggy (a.k.a Baby Room Decorator) came over last night and helped to put up the curtains and change out the drawer pulls in the baby room. The room is really starting to come together, although there are still several things that I need to purchase to make it complete.

Baby Furniture

The baby's furniture arrived last week and while I was at work on Saturday, Brian put all of the furniture together in time for me to see it when I got home. The bottom of the hutch came as one piece and was close to 200 pounds. Poor Brian had to push the box up the stairs on his own without much help from his pregnant wife. The effort was worth it though - the furniture looks absolutely beautiful!

24 Weeks

I'm finally wearing maternity clothes - at least the shirts. My pants are still fitting, but getting a little more snug.

Going to Register

Brian and I went to register at Babies-R-Us last weekend and finished registering at Target this weekend. I think we're done for the most part, but there's always something that I'm deleting and/or adding to the list. What I didn't realize and what none of my friends warned me about was the length of time it would take to register! We were at Babies-R-Us for approximately 4 hours testing strollers, high chairs, swings, you name it! The pictures below were taken BEFORE we went to register - hence the reason for the smiles.

I couldn't resist posting this picture. This is the typical look that I give to Brian when he's acting goofy!

Baby's Room - Phase One Complete!

It took about a day and a half for the workers to paint the walls, doors, trim and the insides of the closets and to take out the carpet and replace it with wood floors. The result is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait for the furniture to arrive (Phase Two)!
