Handmade Quilt

Julie's mom Kaye surprised me at work today with a beautiful handmade quilt that she made especially for Morgan. The stitching is so magnificent that it literally looks like it's store bought. She also made a matching bag to hold the quilt. It's so precious - Thank you Kaye!

Funny Gift

Wendy brought several gifts for Morgan this past weekend since she won't be in town for the shower and she also brought the funniest gift that we've received so far from her husband Paul to Brian. The picture below explains it all...

Birthday Weekend

I have some great friends!

Friday was my birthday and I was treated to lunch by my co-workers and then that evening I curled up on the couch and watched several of the shows that I had recorded on the DVR. (Brian was out of town for his family reunion.)

Saturday I ran errands and then met up with my friend Julie at the mall to watch the movie "Orphan". The movie was horrible, but Julie and I got quite a few laughs out of it and enjoyed dinner at Tin Star - which more than made up for the 2 hours wasted in the theatre.

Sunday, the plan was to have my friend Nola come over and pick up some Mary Kay and then go to lunch. When she arrived, I was happily surprised to see that my friend Wendy (who lives up North) was with her! What I didn't know was that Brian had helped them coordinate the surprise before he left for his trip. Wendy had brought gifts not only for my birthday, but also shower gifts since she won't be in town for the actual shower next weekend. After opening gifts we went to lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and watching a couple of movies.

What a great birthday weekend! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Work Baby Shower

I have the best co-workers in the world! They threw a baby shower for me and Brian on July 1st at Breadwinners. Angela planned 3 great games: Name the Nursery Rhymes, Guess What's in the Bags and The Price is Right. Brian and I didn't do so well at the games, but we still had a lot of fun! Julie made some delicious homemade strawberry cupcakes using the Sprinkles frosting recipe - they were to die for! The entire group was so generous with their gifts and went out of their way to make sure that the shower was a lot of fun. I told you they are the best!

4th of July Party

Brian and I went to the Fletcher's house to celebrate the 4th of July. We didn't see any fireworks this year, but we had a great time!
