Father's Day

It was a laid back Father's Day for Brian. We visited Leslie's to get some pool supplies, then went over to Lisa's to hang out for a little while. Later that evening, I picked up dinner from Mi Cocina. Morgan gave Brian a sweet card that she made at daycare and also a framed photo of her and Daddy.

I love this picture!

Handsome Hound?

Let's face some facts, I have a very fat cat. Aidan has difficulty cleaning all of his fur because he's so big, which causes him to get clumps that I can't get out with a brush. This is the 2nd year that he's gone to the groomer for clump removal. I find it amusing that the place I take him to is called the "Handsome Hound".

Hippo & The Hat

Morgan thought her new summer hat would look cute on
Hippy the Hippo...

I'm thinking it looks cuter on someone else...

Tiffany & Kristin

Kit and I bought tickets to see Kristin Chenoweth live in concert. We decided to have dinner at Private|Social, a restaurant owned by Tiffany Derry, an alum and former instructor of The Art Institute (most people know her from her two seasons on Top Chef). She's a sweet, down-to-earth, no-nonsense gal and we love her! Dinner was awesome, but unfortunately we couldn't stay and get the tour because we were running late for the concert.

The concert...I always knew that Kristin's voice was incredible, but she blew me away. I can't believe that huge voice comes out of that tiny little person! I can't even put into words how amazing she was.

I have to apologize for the pictures. They were taken with the camera on Kit's phone, so most are blurry.

American Idiot

Lisa and I went and saw the broadway play "Green Day's American Idiot" while it was playing in Dallas. Great show and the music was awesome!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was very nice. We spent Saturday with Mary & Ron and the Newton clan. Sunday was just the three of us, we had breakfast at Cafe Brazil and I didn't have to do much of anything for the rest of the day. Brian basically gave me a 'day off', which was really nice. That evening we had hibachi for dinner. Morgan gave me a card that she had made at school and also a bookmark with her picture, that Daddy helped her make. It was a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day.

First Haircut

Morgan's hair was all different lengths, all around the base it was short, but in the middle it was long. She was almost sporting a "Bullet" or Baby Mullet. I decided that it was time for a cut, so we took her to child's salon for her first time. They had cool seats in the shape of cars and she was very excited to sit in one UNTIL the 'cape' came out and the stylist tried to fasten it around her neck. She was not happy and wanted out of the car. Brian ended up sitting in a regular salon chair with her in his lap. She did pretty well sitting through the cut, but was not happy when the stylist turned on the hair dryer. In the end, she got about 4 inches cut off. Unfortunately, she still has the short hair around the base of her hairline so she's still sporting the Bullet, just a little shorter. :)

First Concert

Morgan experienced her first concert in May. We went to see the Fresh Beat Band, which is a musical group on Nickelodeon. I was concerned that the concert might not keep her attention, but I shouldn't have worried - she ate through all of her snacks and had a great time!

Ready to go! I think I was just as excited as Morgan.

Even Daddy was looking forward to it.

Go Dog Go!

"Go Dog Go" was one of my favorite books from childhood. I got it for Morgan and she fell in love with it immediately. We read it every night, at least 2-3 times.

Gymnastics

Morgan has been going to gymnastics for about a month and half now and she loves it! She refuses to do a front roll, but is a pro on the trampoline, swing, and balance beam. These pictures were taken at her first class.

Trying the front roll, didn't happen

Happy Earth Day!

Easter 2012

Morgan's class at daycare had an Easter party, so I took off work a little early to attend the party - which basically was a sugar overload!

Sloan, Morgan, & Xavi - Morgan's boyfriend (HA!)

This year I got Morgan involved in preparing for Easter. We made a craft, which consisted of making bunny rabbits. We also decorated easter eggs and baked & frosted cookies. Sunday morning, we were all dressed and ready for church, when I noticed that Morgan's eyes looked bad - another case of pink eye. We didn't get to go to church, but she still had a good Easter. She had fun searching for eggs in the front yard and loved the basket that the Easter Bunny left for her.

YUMMY!
