Letter to Maylin - 4 Weeks

My Dearest Maylin Girl,

I can't believe it's already been 4 weeks since you became a part of our sweet little family. You came a little earlier than expected, but we were so excited to see you. You've been such a good baby and we're all so in love with you!

These are some of the things we already know about you...

You LOVE to be held. As soon as you realize that you've been put down, you start to cry.

You are a VERY messy eater. We have to use both a bib and a burp cloth to try and keep the formula from getting on your clothes. (These attempts don't work, unfortunately).

You are gassy (just like your sister was) and you are currently taking Zantac to help with this. Fingers crossed that it works. :-)

You have the most beautiful smile and I can't wait to see more of it as time goes on.

Your big sister ADORES you and loves to give you hugs and kisses all the time.

You are starting to get your days and nights figured out, which makes the nights for Mommy and Daddy a little better.

We love you Sweet Pea and we can't wait to see how many changes and interesting things you will do in the next 4 weeks.

I tried to take a picture of her with her rabbit in the chair, but she just wasn't having it.

She was more content laying on her play mat.

Interesting Meal

Morgan makes some interesting combinations with her food - including 'sopping up' her strawberry applesauce with her peanut and jelly sandwiches. This particular night, she decided to put her orange flavored yogurt on top of her chicken nuggets. We may have a future chef on our hands.

Message from Mom

I've been missing my mom a lot lately, especially while being at home with Maylin all day. The other day, when Morgan got home from school, I pulled her artwork out of her bag and noticed one in particular of a person with flowers all around it. I asked her about it and she said it was a picture of me with daisies. Daisies were my mom's favorite flower. I truly believe in signs and I know my mom was letting me know that she's here with me.

First Bath - 2 Weeks Old

Maylin wasn't sure what to think about her first bath, but she did like the warm water.

Due Date: August 13, 2013

I thought it would be funny to take a picture of myself on my due date (minus the baby belly).

Morgan Time

Brian and I took Morgan to her first movie while my sister watched Maylin for a couple of hours. We saw "Planes" and although Morgan enjoyed the experience of 'going to a movie', the theatre was entirely too loud and she covered her ears through a lot of the movie. Next time we're bringing ear plugs!

Big Sister

Morgan is LOVING being a Big Sister. She always wants to give Maylin lots of kisses and hugs.

Maylin's Hospital Pictures

We had photos taken of Maylin in her 'going home' outfit on the day we left the hospital.

Baby Shower

My posts are a little out of order because Miss Maylin decided to come 2 weeks early and I wasn't able to update the blog prior to her arrival. Below are pictures from the baby shower that my sister, Robin, and Mary hosted for me.  By the way, the shower happened just in the nick of time - I had Maylin 4 days later.

Introducing Maylin Muriel Young

Introducing Maylin Muriel Young. She was born on August 1st at 4:33 pm, weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. Her and Mom are both doing well. What started out as a doctor appointment for Amy turned into a full day of bringing this new bundle of joy into our lives. We couldn't be happier and our family is so much better now that we have grown yet again.

Here is a quick video of Maylin.
and of course some pictures as well.

Then someone came by for a visit. She was very excited to be the big sister and her visit was
very special. It was great to get these girls together for the first time.
